Cousin Fun!

My boys were so excited today when Brooke and Lindsay came over for a little visit. Mindy had a doctor appointment for her baby girl who is due in March. The cousins always have fun together so its great that we live just a few miles apart. Here they are eating their gogurts and fruit roll ups.

Notice how they are eating outside. It gets a little too scary for me when they are all eating at once in the kitchen.

Peter Pan

Logan just asked me " Mom does it hurt when God puts your wings on you in Heaven ?". I look at his concerned face and began to explain how we would not need wings in Heaven nor would we ever experience pain. However, I think that Kayla got through to him best when she reminded him that Peter Pan can fly without wings so maybe he could too in Heaven.

The Mikeys

Grandpa had a booth for Logan Pools at the Home and Garden show in Concord last weekend. Michael was happy to visit with him.

Hometown Halloween

For those of you who do not live in Brentwood, Hometown Halloween is a time where the downtown area is closed off and local business owners set up booths and pass out candy to the children. This is a fun event but, a very crowded one. We usually arrive a little early, before it gets too busy. Logan and Michael love to get together with their cousins Brooke and Lindsay ( Adam and Mindy' girls ).

Afterwards, Grandma had a party at her house. It was so much fun. She had made spider sandwiches and a spooky punch!

Kayla and Grandma making carmel apples.

The tired bunch watching " Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown".

Smith Family Farm

Its a tradition. Every fall for the past four years we have visited the Smith Family Farm. Of course this year would be no different. We love this place and look forward to it every October.

The first thing we did was go straight to the barn and check what times the barn show would be open. Sure enough we got there ten minutes before the next show. Just in time to get front row seats.

Next, we were off the see the farm animals. Logan and Kayla were able to crush corn to feed to the chickens.

After lunch, we checked out the General Store. Logan was pleasantly surprised to find Shrek there.

Next, we hit the Corn Maze. I was a little concerned about losing Michael during this event. But, thankfully we only had to redirect him a few times after he ran in the opposite direction.

After the Corn Maze, we hopped on board the hay wagon for a ride out to the pumpkin patch.

Mikey hugged several pumpkin until he found just the right one!

Kayla's perfect pumpkin!

Logan told us all morning that he was going to pick a memeum (medium) pumpkin.

Just waiting for the next wagon to take us to our car.

A Sunday Bike Ride

Mikey attempted his first bike ride Sunday afternoon. He liked sitting on the bike and wearing the helmet, but he wasn't so thrilled about keeping his feet on the pedals. So we really couldn't go anywhere without dragging his feet and you know we were not about to drag those precious shoes anywhere.

Logan is such a good big brother. He was right there encouraging Mikey the whole time. (Notice Logan's helmet on backwards.)

My dear boys.

Shoes

How cute is this! Scott, Logan, and Mikey have the same shoes. Logan loves to match his Dad and is so proud to go anywhere wearing his shoes with him. Unfortunately Mikey only wore his shoes twice. Both times they cut into his feet. I thought that there might problems because when we had his feet measured for shoes in June he was a 4 and a half XW. That's right XW!

At that time we bought him a pair of sandals at the Stride Rite Outlet in Gilroy, had a good laugh about his wide feet, and hoped that they would thin out by the next time that he would need shoes. Three months later, Michael's feet have gone up a size and stayed XW! His sandals are too small and look silly in the fall weather. So off we went to the Sunvalley mall yesterday.

These are what we came home with. Don't get me wrong, they are great shoes that will go with most anything. But, they were $49 (before tax)! Once again the only place that we could find XW shoes is Stride Rite. Doesn't Mikey know that he is the fourth kid and fourth kids should be wearing shoes from Payless or Walmart?

This past month...

Yes, Yes, I know I have once again neglected my poor blog. So I will attempt to catch you up on the past month.

Logan earned his first purple stripe on his blue belt.

Kayla got braces and started seventh grade!

My brother Josh and his wife Ginny gave birth to their first child, Jack Christopher Logan. He is a beautiful boy and we are so excited to finally meet him!

Mikey had his first Gogurt. He was ecstatic!

An update on my Hubby

This is one of my favorite pictures of Scott and Michael. I wanted to thank everyone who has been praying for my dear husband this past week. As some of you may already know he had a severe reaction to a medicine that he had been taking for about a month to help with his back. Thankfully, he is nearly back to his wonderful self. Thank you again for your prayers. I love him so much.

Preschool

Logan started preschool at Celebration Christian Preschool this past tuesday. He will be going on tuesday and thursday mornings from nine to noon. Here he is with his teacher Ms. Luann.

There is even a climbing wall...

and a basketball hoop.

Here is Logan holding the class sign for the " Gentle Giraffes " to line up. Each class has a different animal. But, instead of Logan saying that he is in the Giraffe CLASS, he always says that he is on the Giraffe TEAM. He is such a BOY!

My Friend the Potato

Last night at dinner, Logan was telling us about a boy in his Karate class. I asked what the little boy's name was. Logan then tells me that the boy's name is "Potato"! I repeated him. "Yes" he says. "His name is Potato". At this point Kayla is trying not to laugh. After asking Logan several more times and getting the same answer, Scott says "Wait a minute, is the boy's name Mateo?". "Yes! That's it Dad, Mateo!" Logan exclaimed. I am glad Scott figured that one out.

Party Part 2

Mikey's first taste of cake and he loved it! I am glad that he can't talk yet because I am sure that he would request to have it more often.

AHHH! It is no fun getting clean!

But, it sure feels good afterwards.

Mikey and Papa ( also named Michael)

Happy 1st Birthday To Michael!

Yesterday was Michael's first birthday. We had so much fun celebrating his big day. I am very grateful to be blessed with another wonderful son. He has brought much joy to our family and we all love him dearly,

This is the only picture we have of Michael wearing his crown and if you notice he is trying to take it off.

Aunt Mindy, Aunt Ginny and Grandma. Ginny is due next month and we are so excited to meet her little Jack. I am sure he and Mikey will have fun together in the future.

Dad catching every moment on tape.

Mikey checking out his loot. He and Logan had a blast playing with all his new toys today and I was able to get a few things done without any extra "helpers".

Happy Anniversary

Here is a picture of my husband Scott and I on our wedding day. We have spent six wonderful years together since then. I couldn't dream of a better husband or father to our children. He has changed my life in so many ways and I am so glad that God brought us together.

Baseball, Bowling and a Bump

This morning Logan had his last T Ball game of the season. Thanks Grandma and Papa for coming out to cheer him on.

Later, we took the kids bowling and had a blast!

Mikey enjoyed yet another soft pretzel.

Now this is a warning for anyone who is planning on visting the Brentwood bowling alley : THEY HAVE CHAIRS THERE THAT ACTUALLY JUMP OUT AND HIT YOU! And that is what happened to Logan .

County Fair

We went to the County Fair a few weeks back and I am finally getting around to posting some pictures.

Kayla taking Logan on a kiddie roller coaster.

One of Logan's favorite things: Motorcycles

Kayla and the Tilt A Whirl. I don't know how she does it but, she never gets sick.

There were lots of cool reptiles and farm animals to touch.

The highlight of Mikey's evening was the soft pretzels.
